The Alice WCO has earned a reputation performing cross-cultural music in breathtaking settings throughout the Territory presenting a fine mix of classical contemporary chamber music with a touch of the outlandish.
The ASWCO presents an annual program of 4 concerts – some of which are held within the dramatic natural landscapes of Alice Springs’ surrounds. The orchestra focuses on inclusivity and enjoyment for diverse audiences. The ASWCO provides a unique catalyst for sharing and improving knowledge and appreciation of this remote town and beautiful desert region which we call home.
2024 Season
SEPTEMBER
IMPORTANT UPDATE!!
We are excited to be taking part in the “Festival of the Piano” which is to be held from the 13th to the 15th of September 2024. The festival is a celebration of the purchase of a new Grand Piano for the Araluen Arts Centre brought about by the amazing fundraising efforts of the Friends of Araluen and the generosity of the Alice Springs community.
On Saturday the 14th of September at 7:30pm at the Araluen Arts Centre we will be performing as part of the “Our Forte” program, a concert showcasing the very best of the Alice Springs music scene.
Together with local piano soloist Marg Collins we have prepared a beautiful piece of music composed by Australian composer Daniel Rojas who has been most generous with his time ensuring we have the score required for our performance.
We hope you will be able to join us for what looks to be a wonderful evening of entertainment and a celebration of our amazing diverse community.

Many thanks to our Violinist Gleny Rae for making this happen and a big thankyou to the strings students from schools around Alice Springs who joined us.

Alice Springs World Chamber Orchestra on the cover of LIMELIGHT magazine!
“For our cover story (Red) Centrepieces, Janelle White, a social anthropologist based in Alice Springs, describes how the Alice Springs World Chamber Orchestra, founded by Markus Kuchenbuch in 2018, is creating a powerful space for community engagement and cross-cultural understanding, inspiring positive change. The photographs from their outdoor performances are spectacular too…”
