The Alice WCO has earned a reputation performing cross-cultural music in breathtaking settings throughout the Territory presenting a fine mix of classical contemporary chamber music with a touch of the outlandish.

The ASWCO presents an annual program of  4 concerts – some of which are held within the dramatic natural landscapes of Alice Springs’ surrounds.  The orchestra focuses on inclusivity and enjoyment for diverse audiences. The ASWCO provides a unique catalyst for sharing and improving knowledge and appreciation of this remote town and beautiful desert region which we call home.

2024 Season

JUNE

We are excited to share with you news of our upcoming performances over the next 2 weekends.  Under the direction of our multi-talented violinist Gleny Rae the Alice Springs World Chamber Orchestra,  with a number of strings students from schools around Alice Springs, will be accompanying song man Archer at the Top Half Folk festival on Saturday the 8th of June at Ross River Resort at around 4pm.  We have been lucky to have our ears opened to the unique sound of Archers voice with beautifully written songs and spoken word with orchestral arrangements by the talented composer Erkki Seltheim. We will also perform one of Gleny Raes own songs and arrangements.

Please check the Alice Springs Folk Club’s website https://www.alicespringsfolkclub.com/ or facebook page https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61556265907906 for details on the event and how to purchase tickets. It looks to be a wonderful music filled weekend in a beautiful setting.

The following weekend on Saturday the 15th of June  at 7pm there will be a repeat performance of the collaboration with Archer and Gleny Rae supporting Warren H Williams and Family  in a 40th anniversary celebration of the Araluen Arts Centre. This also promises to be a wonderful evening of music and entertainment. Please visit the Araluen website for more information and to secure your tickets
