HARSHINI BHOOLA
CELLO

Harshini Bhoola has been playing cello since she was 8 years old. She has achieved grade 8 with distinction, and was the lead cellist of her county orchestra in England. After not playing for 10 years she has recently started performing again.

LUIZ GUBEISSI
DOUBLE BASS

Luiz is a double bass player originally from Brazil who has played a wide range of genres including Jazz, Brazilian music, ethnic music, folk, rock, funky, experimental and contemporary music. The Alice Springs WCO offers new opportunities to play in the crossover classical style.

SARAH DICK
CELLO

Sarah started playing the cello at the age of 10. She loves playing in ensembles and is relishing the opportunity to play this beautiful music by some of the most amazing composers. Sarah is a mother of 2 working as a sonographer in Alice Springs.

ED NICHOLSON
VIOLA

Ed Nicholson graduated from Monash University majoring in Music Performance (Viola and Violin) and Musicology, as well as Education. He has played in a wide variety of ensembles ranging from orchestras, experimental rock bands, Klezmer bands and Jazz ensembles.

GLENY RAE 
VIOLIN / ACCORDION

Gleny Rae is a country girl with an international heart. From Nymagee NSW to the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, she has played in orchestras, string bands and folk ensembles across Australia and internationally. She is an advocate of open borders; in life, politics and music.

CALEB MICHAEL KEANE
CLARINET/OBOE

Caleb has been playing clarinet, saxophone and oboe for the past 13 years, having been involved in various events in Alice Springs ranging from Band, Eisteddfod and St Philip’s musicals, carols, and solo performances. Caleb joined the WCO in 2019 as a guest performer and continues to perform clarinet with the ensemble.

ERIN DARRIGAN
VIOLIN

Erin Darrigan studied violin at the University of Queensland, followed by a Graduate Diploma of Secondary Education at James Cook University. Erin has been teaching music for 4 years and was assistant vocal director for Kirwan State High School’s music program. Besides a brief stint with the original folk band Three Mile Road, Erin was a member of the Townsville Barrier Reef Orchestra performing with Emma Pask and James Morrison and others on special occasion.

DR KATE M SAVAGE
VIOLIN

Kate has been playing the violin since the age of 5, and was awarded her A music for violin in year 12. She has enjoyed performing with several orchestras, chamber groups and amateur theatrical societies in Victoria over the last 30 years.
Kate currently works as a GP in Alice Springs.

JESSICA WRIGHT
VIOLIN

Jessica has been playing violin since age four and works as a performance arts teacher at
OLSH. With a BA in Music Ed from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music Jess is passionate about working with kids in rural and remote areas. Jess has performed in ensembles mainly in Armidale and Sydney and is a keen songwriter.
