ORCHESTRA ACADEMY I

Alice WCO journeying Europe
with Jonathan Tooby, Chief Conductor/AD Darwin Symphony Orchestra

The Alice WCO will host its 1st Orchestra Academy March 12-14th for Music Practice, Leadership, Conducting, Ensemble Directing, Knowledge and Skill Development. Day 3 will culminate in a combined evening concert led by Darwin Symphony Chief Conductor and Artistic Director Jonathan Tooby with Markus Kuchenbuch on solo flute.

DSO’s chief Conductor, Cellist and Music Educator Jonathan Tooby, who has performed in all forms of music including Symphonic, Opera, Ballet, Chamber Music, Film and even in Bands playing music from Bach to AC/DC followed ASWCO’s invitation for its first Orchestra Academy to further develop the ensembles Skills Set in Rehearsal, Ensemble and Conducting practice. The 3-day Academy will lead to an all European program to be performed at Witchetty’s, 14th March 6:30pm

Haunting melodies from ancient civilisations, Greek Lyre masterly played by multi artist Pin Rada, exuberant Kurdish melodies woven into western string ensemble by Kevin Bishop,travelling into future musical times with compositions by Hollis Taylor
